Always dreamt of riding a ferris wheel in Japan. Never knew it would scare me so much being higher then skyscrapers. I recorded the experience to share. :)

kimjongiloppa asked: Hi! I'm studying abroad next year with my friend [in August] and I saw your post that you are attending. I was wondering if you could share some pointers or your overall experience there with me since we don't know what to expect. Thank you~

I’ll be writing all about my experiences and tips over the next few weeks so make sure you read my blogs on here :)

The Final Chapter of Seoul is near

Just a few weeks until I head back to home in Tampa. I’m looking forward to being reunited with my family and friends, my club, and to attend my home university once again next spring (also just a few weeks after I get back home).

I really am going to miss the people I have met here in Seoul - maybe even more than I will miss Seoul itself. I hope our paths will cross again somewhere in the world. The people here are just so welcoming, so down-to-earth, they all came here taking a risk just like I did. We wanted to experience life on the other side of the planet or somewhere else than home and we have all been able to enjoy that. It’s a once in a lifetime experience.

Some people will stay behind here and continue to study abroad here, but still there will be no replacement for our 1st YONgojeon, 1st time riding the subways, 1st time living in SK Global, 1st time at Barfly, 1st time clubbing in nice clubs, 1st time riding a cab on the cheap, and 1st time drinking soju together.

There are so many experiences we have had here. I’m really grateful for this opportunity to come here. I’m thankful for USF giving me a scholarship to come here, thankful for my parents always supporting me along the way, and to my friends who encouraged me to take a chance and go abroad. Most of all though I am proud of myself for taking this trip to Korea and experiencing a whole new world. I’ll remember that one time I went to Seoul for a semester for my life. :)

I’m setting my sights on Japan next Summer. I’ll focus on my language and make it happen. I’ll use my food blog and work hard for this opportunity.

Thank you Korea :)
